The right selection of impressed current anode for a particular protection project depends on the environment that surrounds the pipeline or buried structure. In relatively drylands soils, graphite anodes has proven to be the best selection . DTSI offers a wide range of graphite anodes, manufactured according to the official regulations of quality. Made of high-quality oil coke, which is mixed with coal tar and compressed on bars of different diameters. DTSI anodes are available on bars or backfill with canister.
Although the graphite anodes can operate in watery environments, its best application is in environments of dry conditions. The backfill use really increase the discharge surface area of the graphite anode and reduce the resistence anode-soil. DTSI anodes have been successfully used in both applications: horizontal ground bed & deep ground bed, which has proven an exceptional protection in environments with high levels of chloride.
It is manufactured from high silicon alloys with molten iron, being one of the most affective materials adatable to different environments. Can be installed deep underground, sea water or salty water.
The high silicon cast iron anodes are used for an effective protection against corrosion of submerged or buried structures, using impressed current method.
It is commonly used as a sacrifical anode in the electromagnetic field of cathodic protection. This galvanic anode is connected to the steel structures to prevent or delay the effect of corrosion. The magnesium anode has high chemical activity, its potential is negative and its voltage is high. When in water, the metal of the anode is oxidized, preventing that corrosion gets to the protected metal.
It is characterized by having low density, high electrical capacity, low rate of potential & negative polarization, high voltage for iron & steel (>0.6V). It is appropiate for the protection of metal components in soil or in the water where the electrical resistivity is higher. The magnesium anode is mainly used as anti-corrosion system on buried pipelines, platforms on soil, giant boilers and steel structures.
MMO anodes are made of titanium coated with other mixed metal oxide materials. This crystalline coating is electrically conductive, activating the titanium that acts as cathodic protection. The MMO Anodes have a very low rate of power consumption, have varied uses for land, sea, mud, sewers and potable water environments.
